I wonder why it's attached to the bottom of the screen though? You'd assume that the player's attention is going to be focused on and around their ship. The most obvious implementation would be a tiny radial blip attached to the player's ship. Do you find yourself tracking the locator with your peripheral vision? The boss locator is ingenious.
